Case study
A calm home for dog training, progress and everyday care.
DogPass is an ad-free iPhone app that keeps training and daily care in one place: 100+ commands, structured sessions with a built-in clicker, progress over time, appointments, and a shareable profile for sitters or family. I did the research, product, UX, engineering, cloud sync, brand and the App Store release myself.
Problem
Everyone tracks training in their notes app, then stops.
Owners want to know whether the recall actually improved, when the next vet appointment is, and what the sitter needs to know. In practice that lives in three places: a notes app, a calendar, and someone's memory.
What exists is either a social feed, a breeder tool, or a subscription trap with ads. Nothing that treats daily training as the main job and stays quiet otherwise.
Approach
One place, four decisions
Sessions, not feeds
A session is the unit: pick commands, run it with the built-in clicker, log how it went. Everything else hangs off that.
A real library
100+ commands with instructions, so nobody has to invent a training curriculum to get started.
Shareable profile
Sitters and family get what they need without creating an account: food, meds, vet, commands in progress.
No ads, no noise
Paid, ad-free, no engagement mechanics. The app should still be useful on day 200, not just day one.

Outcome
Shipped alone, end to end
App Store rating since launch
commands in the training library
product, design, code, brand, launch
Brand, landing page and store presence shipped with the app. The build also became my proving ground for agentic AI coding tools: the reason a solo release at this scope was realistic at all.
